A Picnic Basket For Your Diet

Tra la la - a basket of healthy goodies are in store for you!

With warmer weather in store, it's time to drag out the old picnic basket & dust it off!  But don't fill it with FRIED CHICKEN just yet!

Instead, try any of the following:

Celery sticks stuffed with Light cream cheese that has been mixed with black sliced/chopped olives (I cannot recommend fat free cream cheese with a clear conscious.  It's truly yuckers!  Go with the Light version or stuff with lowfat cottage cheese after you set up your picnic.)

Celery sticks stuffed with Price's Light Pimento Spread

Tip: Wash & pull the strings from your celery.  Before filling them, DRY the celery.  Your fillings will glide on.  If you are using cream cheese, allow it to come to room temperature before using for easier spreading. You should immediately return the celery to the fridge or a cooler so that bacteria doesn't set in.)

Golden Chicken Breasts: Flatten breasts (No not yours!  The chicken's!)  Next, add a pinch of SEA SALT and pepper.  Sea Salt will lend an unusual, delicious twist to your chicken's breasts.  (Oooh - la - la!)  Next, cook with non stick cooking spray on medium heat until golden.

An assortment of fresh breads.  For a fun experience, purchase the tiny party breads.  It's a good way to enjoy several slices.

Light Tuna Salad: (To use on those baby breads.) Drain 1 small can of Albacore Tuna.  Add a bit of salt and cracked pepper, 1 teaspoon of relish, 1 peeled and cleaned chopped boiled egg, and 1-3 Tablespoons of LIGHT Mayo.
