Orange Scones, A Low Calorie, Low Fat Bread RecipeFirst mix the dry ingredients: 3 cups of all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/4 cup of table sugar, a bit of grated orange peel. Now for the wet ingredients: 1 teaspoon of orange extract, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of melted light margarine and 1 1/2 cups of skim milk. Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Roll out the scone dough and cut into triangles. Bake on non-greased sheet in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 10 to 15 minutes or until done. Scones can be brushed with egg whites to create a beautiful sheen on the scones.
